Best Senior Photo Locations in Monroe, GA & Surrounding Areas
One of the questions I get asked most when planning a senior session is, “Where should we take the photos?”
And my answer is always—it depends on YOU.
Your senior photos should feel like more than just pretty pictures in a pretty place. The location should fit your personality, your style, and the story you want your senior photos to tell.
As a senior photographer based in Monroe, Georgia, I photograph seniors in all kinds of locations throughout Monroe, Athens, Loganville, Covington, and surrounding areas. From open fields and dreamy golden light to downtown streets, gardens, water, vintage trucks, and locations that have personal meaning, there are so many ways to make your senior session completely your own.
1. Open Fields + Golden Light
If you love a natural, timeless look, an open field is hard to beat. Fields give us room to move, walk, laugh, and create images that don't feel overly posed.
This is also one of my favorite options for seniors who tell me, “I'm awkward in front of the camera!” Movement makes everything feel more natural, and I'll guide you through the entire session so you never have to wonder what to do with your hands.
2. Downtown + Urban Locations
Want something with a little more personality? Downtown locations give us so much variety—brick walls, sidewalks, staircases, storefronts, parking decks, and interesting architecture.
Downtown Monroe and other nearby areas can be especially fun if you want a mix of casual and elevated looks. Jeans and sneakers can feel completely different from a dress or more polished outfit, even when we're photographing everything within a few blocks.
3. Vintage Cars + Trucks
This might be one of my favorite ways to make a senior session feel completely different.
An old truck or vintage car adds character without taking the focus away from YOU. We can create some classic portraits and then incorporate more candid moments—sitting in the truck, leaning against it, walking around it, or simply letting the location inspire us.
If cars or trucks are part of your story, even better. I always love incorporating things that actually mean something to my seniors.
4. Gardens + Flowers
If you want something feminine, colorful, and romantic, a garden or floral location can be beautiful for senior portraits.
These locations pair especially well with dresses, softer colors, and outfits with movement. Depending on the season, we can look for blooms, greenery, pathways, or other little pockets that give your gallery variety.
5. Unique Locations That Show Your Personality
Your senior photos don't have to look like everyone else's.
Some of my favorite sessions happen when we choose a location based on something you love or the vibe you want your photos to have. A record store, retro diner, coffee shop, bookstore, or another unexpected location can turn your senior session into something that feels completely personal to you.
A record store can give us a fun, laid-back, vintage feel, while a diner can bring in color, personality, and a completely different look—all within the same senior gallery.
This is where I really encourage my seniors to think outside the box. What do you love? Where do you spend your time? What kind of place feels like YOU?
We don't have to recreate someone else's senior pictures. We can create something that tells your story.
